Just wondering, why is everyone calling them spirits lately?
My very first sprite wasn´t really a sprite...it was a cat-dragon mix ...I did it in Photoshop and it kept smoothing things because I couldn´t get the pen tool to work properly. The first real sprite I did was of someone´s dragon character on DC, I can post it here one of these days if you want...it´s pretty messy though

Re: Munin´s art - Herbstblatt´s frog up
I have to admit that currently I am working on Rosehill´s dog set...got to get those extra sprites done as well...but my general goal is to get everything done by the 11th of this month (only 8 more days *winces*) and I have betted to give myself an incentive to actually go through with that.Phoenixwildfire wrote:ZOMG I'm next *bounces excitedly*

Ah ok, I know that effect myself...it took me about 6 months to realize that it was "nareaun quetzalcoatl " and not "naurean"

Eeeeeee, can't wait!
I love the frog picture, especially the little curls that make the texture on the skin.

Of course! My art teacher always said that only 20% of what makes up a good artist is talent, the rest is technique and hard work and my experience is that he was absolutely right about that.SheWolf wrote:Good chocolate is good

I always like to compare drawing/painting to playing an instrument...you have to work hard, start by learning the basics and keep practicing (always!) to get good results. Many people seem to think one either can draw or not which is absolutely not the case. I had to work on my drawing skills for almost 10 years before I was finally close to what I wanted to achieve (when I was 9 years old I saw a book with photorealistic paintings of animals and knew "I want to be able to do something like that one day!")...the key is just not to get discouraged and to keep practicing.
The adult of your set is almost done, I should be able to finish it this evening...unless what I have done yesterday looks horrible which I don´t hope...I cannot really say because I was only half-awake while working...and listening to a song called "Comatose" did not really helpRosehill wrote:

And thank you! That is one of my favourite techniques for creating textures...thise little swirls make for great skin and scale textures as well as stone and moss and lots of other things

I would be doing that if I wasn't so lazy...but I need to start off again with still lifes since they seem to be my strong point...(I have to get back into using the different drawing and blending techniques that I learned...)Munin wrote: Of course!
