lol, I'm actually glad you said that because it already is a good day! XD I only have one class today and I don't have to do a presentation nor take a test today either! I usually end up having to do one or the other, and I usually have at least two classes on Thursdays, so I'm really happy! My family already celebrated my birthday and my mom's birthday during the Thanksgiving break. So now I only have to wait for Christmas! XD

Tails are only used for ruddering so movement won't do much-- the body movement could be turned down a bit.

Like Munin said, bird wings tend to "push" on the air as they're moving forward-- the wing forms a scoop that the bird can push against the air with, as if it were a physical object. When a bird flaps downwards, the flight feathers will curl upwards a bit at the force. When the bird raises its wings to flap again, it will half-fold them to cut down wing resistance(bending something is much easier than trying to flap something straight!) before straightening them out again on the downstroke.

Bird wings come in a variety of different shapes meant to do different things, and as such, some birds will be faster flappers than others. A crow-like bird(assuming the one in your image is one) will generally give a few fast, heavy flaps before gliding, just to propel themselves forward. Crows are not built for endurance or high speeds-- their wings are a good example of a median of the types of bird wings. Now, if I'm wrong and your bird is meant to be more of a songbird, this changes things a little. Sonbirds generally have short, stubby wings built for speed, and they compensate for the energy used by "resting" mid-flight-- which also helps propel them faster. They will flap extremely fast, reach a crest in their flight path, and stop flapping. This drops them down and forward, and once they reach the bottom of their "hill", they will begin flapping again to the top of another.
For example, here is a Song Sparrow flight path:
Image
The zigzagged breaks in the line are to show where the bird is flapping. All songbirds have different flight paths but they all tend to follow the same basic thing.

All in all, it seems like you've gotten the basics down! I'd work on making that wing flap a little smoother instead of repeating the downward motion for the upward, before anything else. Sorry to go off on a tangent.

Sorry to have jacked your post, Munin!

I have not managed to finish my original idea for this event, so here is my "backup idea" instead...I hope it will work out as I am not sure how workable it really is. If there are any problems please bear with me, there might be some thing I have overlooked when planning this. I also hope you will not run at seeing the wall of text that follows

You stroll through the Keep, enjoying the festive mood that is beginning to fill the halls along with the decorations. People passing you are humming Christmas songs already and often enough you see someone carrying packets that hold early-bought presents. The ice creatures that are returning to the Keep as temperatures fall are a welcome sight, making even the cold a welcome change.
As you turn a corner a delicious smell meets your nose, you are close to the Keep´s bakery. You follow it in the hopes to beg a cookie or two from the bakers. When you draw nearer the smell takes on an undertone of burned food, a bad sign. When you reach the bakers´working area the master baker is scolding one of the apprentices. "How on earth could that happen? You should know better, this is the third time this week alone! I cannot use someone in here who does not have any talent, out with you!" You feel bad for the apprentice who silently flees the kitchen. The master mutters to herself and you hear "...will not be able to finish that order of cookies Master Belmos ordered for the feast. What now?" and you know why she was so angry, disappointing Master Belmos is not something anyone wishes to do. You always loved baking with your parents when you were younger, perhaps you can help?"

Will you help the Keeps´bakers out? Of course you will have to proof that you know what you are doing. You will start out as an "amateur", only allowed to work on the easiest of recipes with the cheapest ingredients. But with time the master baker will see what you can do and promote you, trusting you with more complicated work.

There are 5 "ranks":
amateur - can combine two ingredients from the amateur ingredients
kitchen hand - can combine two amateur ingredients and add one of the kitchen hand ingredients
apprentice - two amateur ingredients + 1 kitchen hand ingredient + 1 apprentice ingredient
journeyman - two amateur ingredients + 1 kitchen hand ingredient + 1 apprentice ingredient+ 1 journeyman ingredient
master- two amateur ingredients + 1 kitchen hand ingredient + 1 apprentice ingredient+ 1 journeyman ingredient + 1 master ingredient

PRIZES!
Due to the large number of helpers enourmous amounts of cookies had been done. The delivery for Master Belmos had been done in time and would now be used during the Keep´s Christmas party where every magus present at the Keep and all people living in the surrounding area would now sample the bakery´s finest cookies. And a few boxes of cookies had even been left over, those would now go out to the people who had helped in this mad cookie baking season. Smiling and humming happily to herself the master baker finished setting the last of the ingredients back into their places, dusted off a bit of flour from the last workbench and set out the cookie boxes. One cookie for everyone who had helped, even if it had just been one batch. The more they had done, the more cookies they had deserved of course. The most skilled and regular helpers would get a special treat, something the master baker usually only made for very, very special occasions and people.

You all have gained points during this event. While baking was still running those were my means of deciding when to promote you. Now they are turned into a sort of "currency" so that everyone can choose what prizes they like best (limited only by the number of points earned of course) and actually get what they want instead of me randomly throwing things at you ;)

You can trade points for prizes until the 15th of January. You don´t have to spend them all at once, I will note in my master list what you have traded for and how many points you have left. If you are one point short of getting something you want, say you have 29 points but want get something that costs 30 points I will gift you that point. This option is only valid once though. This will allow people who got unlucky and ended up with 0 points the chance to get at least one cookie :)
You can also gift points to others (even if they have not participated should that be relevant), it is Christmas after all.

Please respect that only people who have "bought" a special sprite may use them.

To trade point for something please post like this but just replace the words:
username
prize1
prize2
overall cost in points

example:
Munin
jam cookie
Armoured Polar Bear
35

To gift points please write something along the line of:
I, [your username], want to give [username of person you want to gift points to] [number of points]!
Example: I, Munin, want to give Faeryl 10 points!

There are four different types of prize, each with a different prize:
1 point:
Image (almond cookie)

5 points each:
Image ( jam cookie)
Image (hazelnut cookie)
Image (cinnamon star)

10 points each:
Image (honey ice dragon)
Image (chocolate ice dragon)
Image (anise winged cat)
Image (jam pygmie)
Image (chocolate chip abeoth)
Image (gingerbread ibex)
Image (vanilla cinersi)
Image (chocolate winged cat)
Image (gingerbread elk)

30 points each:
For 30 points you get a special cookie that will lure a creature to you, that if fed regularly with lots and lots of cookies will stay with you

Image (Christmas Cobra)
Image (armoured polar bear)
Image (Sweet Snowman)

This should be all I think, if you still have questions or something is not clear please let me know! =)
