My hubby is the devil (And I hate him)

Chapter 1
Kaitlin POV

Breaths escaped me as I ran, my eyes darting around, looking for the being following me. I heard a whoosh behind me and whipped around, I saw a man with a bird head, and a serpent's tail

“Amon…” I said hollowly, gasping for breath. A flicker of smypany entered his eyes but it quickly disappeared.

“Hello, Kaitlin.” His voice was cool, though his eyes were burning with a fiery rage. He seemed mad at me, I couldn’t place my claw on it.

I smoothed down my shirt and crossed my arms. “What do you want? I’m not going back to hell!”

“Yes you are! Hell is in chaos looking for you! Lucifer is… heartbroken! I- we miss you, Katilin! You were the only thing keeping hell together, we need you”

“Screw you,” I muttered. Though I did feel sort of bad, but I wasn’t going back. I had to look out for myself, and only myself.

“Katilin…” He smoothed down the feathers on his head, “Please?” Amon’s pleading eyes almost convinced me to go with him.

But it didn’t. “No.” I took off running in the opposite direction. Guilt hurting my heart.

***

I came across a… human town. It looked much different from the last time I was here, up on earth. But again, that was almost 2000 years ago. The city looked very… bright! That’s the word! The artificial lights lit up the dark night, but one caught my eye, I couldn’t read the human language that it was written it but, it still called for me, so I walked in.

“Were closing madam! I’m sorry but you can come back tomorrow!” His cheery voice made me look for him. He was in the corner… with a broom? But not like a normal broom, a normal broom wouldn’t have weird strips of rag on the ends.

I stood in the doorway for a bit, not saying anything, the young man was growing more, and more uncomfortable. “Ok.” I said. But said down in a booth anyway.

“Heh… Madam… were closed, you have to leave.” He pursed his lips, and glared. I tilted my head, not understanding.
“What is your human name?” I asked calmly. Unblinking.

“... uhhh, Ty, Tyler Rena?” He looked to the side, uncomfortable looking at me. Maybe it was my very inhuman like appearance, so I shifted it, I got rid of my horns, long claws, and sharp teeth. This seemed to only frighten him more.

“Well… Tyler Rena… I wish to live up here, with you, and your fellow humans.” I brushed hair out of my face and stared at him.

“Ah, well, ya see… you can’t just… live here ya know?”

“Why not?” I furrowed my eyebrows.

“Well, you’ll need money!” He stuttered.

“Where do I get this… money?”

“A-a job! You can work here if you want just-just like, leave for now!” I nodded my head and stood up, just as another human walked in, and looked at me with a questionable gaze.

My heart melted, and I froze in place. His hair, his deep blue eyes, and his fiery aura was to much for me to resist. The puddle I called my heart hurt because my husband, Lucifer, would never, ever let me get with him.

“Hello? Madam, why are you here, we’re closed…” He smiled brightly and I died.

“Y-yeah! I’ll go! Uh, uh, goodbye!” I did a quick bow and hurried out of there as soon as I could. A blush spread across my face as I thought of him again.

I let out a squeal, ‘I’m… I’m free..’ I was walking on the boardwalk when I saw it… a ball of fire sinking itself into the vast well of water. My breath hitched, tears threatened to spill from my eyes as a smile spread across my face.

I ran towards it. The ball of orange fire, making the sky turn pink. I got to the edge of the well, if that’s even what’s it’s called. I slowly dipped my foot in and screeched when the cold hit my foot.

“W-what?” I slid my other foot into the water, and slowly, but surely, I was up to my waist in the water. Something touched my foot and I grabbed it as quick as I could. I was… a scaly withering thing.

I bit into it.

Malachi POV
Chapter 2

I hate her. She dipped out when I needed her most, but whatever, I didn’t need her anyway. I have father, and Zepar, my best friend.

I sighed. I missed her, though I couldn’t allow myself to dwell on those feelings of loneliness. I had to keep a strong face, because if I didn’t I would be either killed, or overthrown. But to be honest, neither sounds good. I let out a yawn and sat up.

***

“Hello Father,” I nodded my head curtly, and took a seat at the table. Immediately I was greeted with a few lower demons filling up my plate with bread, bacon, and intestines. Of what being, I do not know, nor did I care. I took a piece of the bacon and excused myself from breakfast.

“Wait… Malachi… why do you think she… ya’ know…” I rolled my eyes, Father has been like this for around a month, since Mother left. Though I couldn’t blame him, I felt the same way.

“I think it was you, Father… you drove her away.” I walked back to my room and sighed. I knew it was also my fault, but I would not take the blame for it.

A single tear escaped my eye but I caught it before it hit the floor. I ran my hands through my hair, turning around to see my friend, Iris. “Hey..” was the single word he said in greeting.

“Hey,” I didn’t really like him but he helped me a lot with my social status. So, I guess he wasn’t really a friend? I shook my head.

“What’s up?” His blank eyes gazed at me and he tilted his head in curiosity. I sighed, and told him to drop it. Iris shrugged and asked again.

“I said drop it.” I hate him so much. “And how did you even get into the castle?”

Iris shrugged and asked if there was any breakfast left; “I don’t know man, I’m just real hungry… please?”

I rubbed my eyes in annoyance. “We have tons leftover food in the fridge, help yourself.” He’s the fucking worst.

Irises eyes would have shone if they weren’t just white. “Dude.. like, no homo, but I’m in love with you.”

“Ha… O-okay.” What the fuck? I almost laughed in spite of myself. I’m not like… gay though. How do I respond? What the fuck?

“Cya dude!” I waved goodbye to him and stood there in shock for about thirty seconds. What if I was gay? But I’m not, just… hypothetically?

I shook my head to get those thoughts out. Ugh, why can’t everything go back to when I was younger, like… only 300 years old! That would be amazing. But I am 1,000, alas, a ‘big’ kid. Most of the time though I just was to be young again, and I honestly feel like I am pretty mature, I just don’t want to be.

Taking a deep breath I walked outside. Only for my eyes to meet this younger being. I felt like I knew them, their deep brown eyes held no malice. I didn’t know what they were if I was being completely honest.

“Oh! Sir, I got lost, sir! I need help finding my mommy!” Most demons didn’t have mothers. We were mostly created by Satan, aka… my father.

I bared my teeth at them and growled, “Who are you?” I crouched to be face to face with this… human. There was a human sitting on our palace steps.

“Oh! My name is Sarah… Sarah Jackson! And your are sir?” I was shocked, she wasn’t dead… and even if she was she shouldn’t be here. She was still young, and pure.

“My… my name’s Malachi… I don’t have a last name like you humans though…” I help my hand out to her, “Follow me… Sarah.” I squinted at this human trying to see what this human’s intentions were.

She grasped my hand and hers felt warm against mine. I turned around and walked back into our palace’s doors. The guards gave us a couple of second glaces but didn’t say anything, though I am sure they alerted my father.

“S-sir… where are we going?” Sarah piped up from behind me, her hand and mine falling apart. I kept walking, without saying a word. I didn’t need to tell her she just needed to understand that we need to get out if she wants to live. My fellow demons don’t appreciate trespassers.

She struggled to keep up with me on her small legs. I turned my head back just to be sure she was there, and stopped for a second. Once she got to me I picked her up and continued on. She sat in my arms, crossing hers and frowning. She wanted answers, and I felt that she was scared of me. But honestly, who wasn’t?

I said to her, “You’re in hell, I’m trying to get you back to your mother” saying no more I continued walking, making sure no one would talk to us.

“What do you mean sir? Hell isn’t really silly!” I glared at her and she shut her mouth as soon as I did. I told her it was real and that we’re here.

We soon got to the entrance and I set her down. “Here we are. It lets out somewhere in Arizona. How far away do you live?”

“I live in Maine! So uh… far away… maybe?” I racked my brain trying to find a mental map of the US.

“Goddamn. That’s far away. I’ll have to take you there I guess.” I rolled my eyes and muttered under my breath “Oh my hell, I have to babysit a child”

“Yay!” She smiled up at me and a small one tugged at my lips. I guess she was kinda cute…
