The Dark


No one knows my name. No one knows what I am. No one knows where I am. No one knows why I am here.

I am not here. I was always here. You do not see my wispy hands reaching for your nightmares,feasting on your dreams. You do not see me devouring your sunny thoughts. You do not notice yourself become as blind as a bat.

I am your best friend. I am your most ravenous enemy. You do not feel me take over your mind,your memory. You do not feel my freeze, my chill. You do not feel my paralyzing gaze from the deepest,darkest umbra. You do not notice yourself go numb.

I am your favorite dream. I am your worst nightmare. You do not hear me drift from one place to another. You do not hear me whisper to you, “I am coming”.
You do not notice yourself go deaf.

I am everywhere. I am nowhere. You do not see me hide in the most forbidding places of everywhere. You do not feel my withering tendrils waft past. You do not see my dark,dark, dreams.

I am the brightest ray of sunshine. I am the darkest umbra of the moon. You do not hear my millions of voices,all whispering to create a towering crescendo. You do not hear my wrath.

You do not sense my laughter. You do not sense my presence,gloating,basking in your ignorance. I am everything. I am nothing.
I pounce.
