Hey, who's interested in the Tea House/writing? (Contests!)

First things first.

The Tea House is very... not lively, to say the least. This is why I'd like to suggest those interested in keeping this little corner a bit active drop a line here and let us meet each other. Even a few people, if they come on regularly, could liven the Tea House up quite nicely, no?

This is why I propose contests. Short story contests, one-shots, poetry, anything is fine, even without prizes offered, but the important thing is to get some going. Contests are a lovely thing, taking part in them is great for beating down writers block and it gets you motivated, since we all love it when we know for sure that someone will actually read our story and let us know what they think about it.

But it's not fun always being the one that makes a contest. So, how about it? Is there anyone around up for a contest? I will happily make the first, but let's not just stop at that, okay? It's no fun unless we pitch in! Plus, if those interested in the Tea House get to know each other, we can all keep this place active enough for some writing entertainment!

Anyone approves? Has a suggestion? Raise up a hand if you want to do some writing in the Tea House!
I know God will not give me anything I can not handle.
I just wish He didn't trust me so much.

I like all writing but I can never seem to finish stories XD How about poems? I like simple rhyming poems ^_^

I, personally, love the idea. <3 I would love to see the creativity of other people. Plus, I'm currently working on a book and would love to hear criticism.

I personally love this idea. I love writing but cannot seem to keep a long story going, maybe make it a short-story contest?

Alright! So a short story contest and a poetry one, right? Tyerwa, Mythic, Axicia- I can definitely put up a short story one, no biggie! ^^

And Mythic, you're working on a book? That's really cool! What's it about? haha, I'm working on a book too, but it's mostly... the planning stage. All three attempts at the first chapter have so far failed miserably, I'm back in idea corner.

And as far I can see, short stories sound like the best choice so far. So whoo! Oh, and I've added a small "form" to fill out, up there above. ^^ it should help those of us here get to know a bit about each other!

You're writing a book too? That's so cool! :hooray: And I know how hard it is. It took me a week to write a 4 page prologue that I was happy with. I currently have the basic book planned, just need to write it. Hope you write yours!

Gonna fill out that forum.

Me! I adore writing. Though I always sadly leave most stories unfinished, it brings me happiness. I would adore to have a writing contest.

i try and write a bit every day. i have so many ideas on the go its hard to imagine any of them getting finished. my dream is to become an author.

Okay, I'm going to pop in here and say that this definitely interests me. I agree that the Teahouse is way too quiet and I would love to see more stories here. Especially ones inspired by Magistream.

Edit: And if I can think up a decent enough prize, I might consider holding a contest for Halloween stories.

*pops in* I'm new to the Tea House corner, and it would be awesome to get some contests going in here! c:

I'm personally writing a book - or trrryiiinnngg, at the least. I've been probably bouncing with this for three years and I've got it all set up but I can never get around to finishing a first draft with all my class work XD
