Hi! Welcome to Choose Your Path Wisely! By the way, the text in italics is the story, and the stuff in normal font is not.

You walk into the strange shop, wondering what had replaced your favorite poetry store. On the walls are several paintings....no, not paintings, they are constantly moving, all of them focused on a girl with dark hair and green eyes. Some of them depict her sleeping, some of them depict her fighting, but no, one of the images changed into the girl's death. A group of four other kids stand around her in most of the pictures, the detailed brushstrokes sometimes showing their deaths, also. Startled, you back away. A door closes behind you, and there stands a queer figure.

She's a girl, a young one at that. Not yet to the Highest School, but still, skill and courage oozing off of her, like an aura. She's wearing a simple canvas smock, with streaks of color dispersed on the rough fabric. On her arms lays a large orange tabby cat, purring contently. She is Asian, almond eyes and black hair, though it is curly and thin, not straight and thick. She smiles, and her eyes scrunch up. "Hi! I'm Cat, well, just call me that. You're in Choose Your Own Adventure. Sierra's world is amazing, no? Would you like to join her? Would you like to stand behind her eyes?"

You ask, raising an eyebrow, "How do I?" You silently think, is this possible? You had been raised for mistrust, and the little girl before you didn't seem so normal, she seemed all original, a new way to sing.

"Put your hand on the painting, and you'll get transported into Sierra's world. With each scenario, you will have a couple of choices. When you choose one, the story will move on. The wrong choice will lead to death, but the right one will allow the tale to continue, so, my friend, are you brave enough?"

You place your hand on the surface, and close your eyes.

Sierra walked along the trail, picking her way among the stones. It was a crisp fall day, and the weather was cold enough to sting your nose and numb your ears, but not cold enough to wear three layers. She summoned the occasional gust of wind to swirl branches out of her face and maybe pick up stones about the size of her fist and send them swirling over the mountainside.

Suddenly, there was a rustle to her right. Sierra whipped her head around. Nothing emerged, and she relaxed. Sure it was not more than a rabbit, she walked on, but, then, came a fury, swooping toward her from above the trees, shrieking in all its hellish glory, wings wide, mouth agape.

What should Sierra do?

A) Run toward the nearest village.

B) Hide in the trees, using an invisibility spell.

Sierra's heart raced. What do I do? Knowing a fury's eyesight wasn't fabulous, she quickly turned herself invisible, hiding among the trees.

The fury landed, eyes glowing red, dragon-like wings folded, poisonous spit oozing from its mouth. God, I hope it doesn't see me. It prowled around for a while, then confused, it began whipping its head around in confusion. Outraged, it opened its mouth and belch a stream of fire into the forest.

Sierra opened her eyes. Am I dead? Oh god. Please don't be dead. No, I'm not dead, I've got my ice shield, but it won't last much longer. It was true, Sierra was surrounded by a layer of ice, which was protecting her from the fire, but the ice was melting quickly, and she didn't have enough energy to summon another one, because the invisibility spell had taken most of her energy.

What should Sierra do?

A) Try and summon some more ice

B) Run to the nearest village

C) Fight the fury

Sierra cleared her mind. OK, we're going to fight. She summoned the hugest amount of water she could, and extinguished the fire. The effort had made her knees tremble, but she faced the fury. The fury looked wet, and outraged. It belched another column of fire, and the last thing Sierra saw was the ghostly beastliness of fire in her face, burning her from the face of Earth.

Dang. Anyways, my next choice is: B) Run to the nearest village.

Sierra looked around. There was nothing else she could do. With great gusto, she whipped up a little breeze to sweep some dust into the fury's eyes, and while it howled int anger, she sped away.

She had only gotten a few feet when she heard swooping noises behind her. It's after me. I need to go, quickly. She rolled down a hill, skipped across a creek, then lost the trail. God, no. I don't want to be burnt to death like a sausage. She ran aimlessly, then came across a crossroad. One trail led to the city of Eclectic, and the other led to Arya.

What should Sierra do?

A) Go to Eclectic

B) Go to Arya

C) Hide among the trees

D) Fight
