I need names (first, and last) for my three characters and the assasin in a book I'm going to write.

The book is about fencing, and the genre is mystery and action. The three main characters are famous, and high leveled fencers.

Character no. 1- He has brown hair, brown eyes, well-built, and fairly handsome. He has a kind of quiet, kind personality, and can be humorous at times. He is fourteen, his rating is a B, and I really haven't decided what fencing club he belongs to. His best friends are characters no 2, and character no. 3, and they all belong in the same fencing club.

Character no 2- She is slender, pretty, and has blond hair and blue eyes. She has a calm, kind, and tough personality, and is not like most girls you would meet. She is fourteen, and her rating is a C.

Character no. 3-He is skinny, and Asian. He has messy black hair, and glasses. He has a funny, quirky personality, and most people just warm up to him when they meet him. He is fourteen, and his rating is a C.
(His parents are Asian, too)

The Assasin- Yes, there is an assasin. He looks like the everyday middle aged man. Wears a long coat.

Character 2: Hannah, Melony, Rachel, Kennedi, Lilly, Rose, Ursula, Georgia.

Character 3: Aadi, Dan, Mason, Mark, Akio.

@Symie, and 105200-Those are some good first names, but I need last names, also.

I don't really have any names to suggest, but I can offer an idea or two that might help.

First off, examine your character traits. Surnames used to based off of physical traits (like Blackbeard, Longfellow, etc.), professions (like Baker, Smith, etc.), and family (like Jackson, Carlson, etc.). Maybe something about your characters will pop up and inspire you, and if it seems to be too plain to you, you can always take that name and translate it into a different language or twist/change it around a little bit.

Another idea is to just go to a baby naming site, go to advanced search, select the gender and nationality you want and just browse through the names until you find something you like. I have a couple of stories where I will be naming the characters with mostly German names for one and Italian names for the other. Its not strict, but the similar names seem to make the stories seem more well-put together. You can change around pronunciation and letters if you find a name you like but want it to be different, or you could combine a few names together.

And, building on the two ideas above, go to a baby naming site and find a name that means something that's opposite of the character. For example, I have a character named Lucian, which means something like 'light', and he's the very opposite of that - he's a very sadistic character, and 'light' would imply a good, just personality. Irony can be funny, and at the very least adds a level of interest to the character.

These can work for both first names and surnames, and will probably work better to help you pick out a name than asking for suggestions. Suggestions can give you several choices to pick from, and it will be difficult to pick one. If you create or find you own name, then you can find one to suit your character better than a suggestion can, especially since sometimes what you describe to us might not be the full picture of what you have in your head.

But the best thing I can suggest is just finding a baby naming site and searching for yourself. They are valuable tools when it comes to names.

@Symie- Trust me, I've tried all those things. I've already got a good name for character no. 3- Gwen Li. And for character no. 2, I might use the name Marina. Jace is also a good firstname for character no. 1.

I'll just give a list of names off the top of my head. I know how hard it is to come up with character names.
Boy Names: Blair, Bolin, Asher, Reeve, Jake, Cypher

Girl Names: Atlanta, Star, Terra, Elektra(spelled however you'd like. Electra maybe?)

Bolin is a very unusual name... Yes, I will definitely take that into consideration. And for the girl names, I need names that are normal, like common names that you would find in America.

I really like the names Star, and Terra, though. I might use for nicknames, or other characters.

Hm. Common girl names. Well easy enough although I hope they aren't too boring. I'll just list the names of a couple people I know.
