The men have captured her
They took her to a prison
She was being charged with stealing
So they put her in chains
The chains rattle with a loud sound
of metal links connected together
On the wall is where they end
the girl bound to the prison wall
When the hours passed
the girl sung herself a lullaby
The chains made a sound
to match the tune she sang
She was alone
she was scared
of the punishment she feared
she kept calm
finding a way to get free
she found a keyhole of the cuffs
that lead to the chain connected by it
Little did the guards know
she was a master of pick-locking
she got a hairpin from her hair
and carefully freed herself
the chains didn't rattle with the usual noise
instead kept quiet to not warn the guards
once she had been freed and got out of the prison
the chains had rested on the wall
no longer making a loud rattling sound
As they rust away slowly
from the days of never being taken care of

Re: A Poetry Chain
A flower is a fragile thing
Delicate, beautiful
Some smell sweet, some are sour
Some are small, some are large
A symbol of love, kindness, gentleness, purity
Colorful and bright
Blooming at day, blooming at night
Such a fragile thing
Breaking through the snow, a tiny little life sprouts,
A flower, a fragile thing,
Now brings the coming of spring
New hope arises with the flower, welcoming the sun
Write about something you lost

Re: A Poetry Chain
I had a pet
his name was kitten
I saved him from the bushes
after his mother abandoned him
I wanted to help the newborn
even though I was terrified
the spiders were crowding the prickling bush
When I stood there,
hearing its cries
i finally gathered the courage
to help the kitten
I was terrified of the spiders
but I won't let it get in the way
of what I should do.
When an hour passed
I got the kitten to safety of my home
where I would take care of him
some days passed by
he was with my step dad
my mom took him to work
and took care of him
I come back one day
noticing something.
I lost the kitten
I lost a friend that day
because my mom took it to the shelter
just because I couldn't keep the kitten
when my grandmother hated animals
When mom said We could get him back
i was happy
till the day the shelter works said no
just because my grandmother said no
that day
i cried so much
because I lost something that I loved
ever since then
any cat I have had
I have lost all of them
because of my mother
my grandmother
and my dad
who told me I cannot have a pet
Ever since those days
I have hated cats
I will never want a cat
or a kitten
because the one I had
that I felt so close to
I lost that cat
who had taken a piece of my heart
before the horror of what my mother did
to rid of the cat without regret

Re: A Poetry Chain
Seeing the world laugh and play,
Hearing a glad song say 'It's okay',
I stand outside with no coat on,
And wait eagerly for rain.
On the table lies the book,
Which assured me there's more good,
That I'll find comrades everywhere, if I'll only look.
And the tale that made me laugh,
While making tears stream down my face.
I sit here now under stormy skies,
Wrapped up in warmth's embrace.
I think that it will rain today,
There's a warm glow in my chest.
Of gratitude to the souls,
Who grant troubled hearts a rest.
The smiling friends who took their tools,
Welcomed me as all can see,
To world of camaraderie and fools.
When I read the love they wrote,
Their hearts they set to writing,
Where defiant children monsters smote,
I find myself deciding,
I know them well, of that I'm sure,
And I think they like me too,
And now all that I can say,
Is that I hope that'll it rain soon.
Prompt:
Write about the story in your favorite book. (Give it a title(the book it's about))

Re: A Poetry Chain
this did not have a specific book and I don't give titles to my poetry its not my style
If you open an old book
the world seems to change
the air smells of mustiness
and the scent of a yellowing page
outside the children are playing
making a lot of noise
now the neboor is yelling at them
but you don't hear a thing
because
If you open an old book
the world seems to change
the air smells of mustiness
and the scent of a yellowing page
every word seems so real
the sereny the author makes seems so surreal
and it feels like if you read long enough
you'd find yourself in a forest
in some other world
and this is true because
If you open an old book
the world seems to change
the air smells of mustiness
and the scent of a yellowing page
write about a throwing knife

Re: A Poetry Chain
Knife Knife on the wall
how I love you so
You are so light weight
Sharp all around
so shiny from how clean you are
I love to hold you in my hand
and throw you when I am bored
being attacked by a person
or even help free others
Knife Knife on the wall
I will use you again today
maybe cut rope that hangs
stab through barrels
or even sharpen you more
I want to keep you forever
but my boyfriends birthday
it is coming soon
he loves knives too
I will use you one more time
then maybe he will take care of you
just like I have
One last time
I will use you
wrap you up
and give you to him
who will care for you
knife knife on the wall
I will miss you
my very favorite knife of all
write about a thief that you fell in love with

Re: A Poetry Chain
A dark moon in a bright night.
Dodging her strikes and winning their fight,
Never thought someone could have the skill,
To pick the lock and steal her heart,
With guiltless eyes and unconfined will,
Without her realizing it was gone.
Young daughter with flames in her soul,
You knew he was nothing but trouble.
A charming, laughing fool,
A spirit that's free and damnable,
That she found she couldn't track,
Though anger and duty propelled her,
He dodged each and every attack,
With gentle touches her strikes did deter.
Oh, but the charm worked both ways,
And he thinks of her too,
He with his loot, her heart, plays,
While thinking it through,
He's stone-hearted and always ready,
He does what he must,
But he's telling her to be wary,
'Me you mustn't trust.'
But she can't help it no more than he.
She knows she should hate him,
But often her soul disagrees,
The way he's his own master,
A wild mongrel with sharp teeth and soft face,
The daughter who's an emotional disaster,
Knows she's losing their race.
Breaking her chains she'll lose her balance,
Chained or in dust? Oh, flame-souled daughter,
On knees, face turned down and freed from anklets.
You see only your tears and your marauder,
So eyes widen when a hand touches your chin,
You don't even dare breath,
While he lifts your face wearing that grin,
Leans in close to gift bequeath.
Oh, I laughed when you gasped,
Your lips tingling in surprise,
And then your hand clasped,
I smiled when he helped you rise,
Oh, silly child, really didn't see,
That he'd return you your heart,
And together you'd be?
It wasn't a thief that 'I' fell in love with, but I hope it's okay.
Eh, I hoped it would turn out better. ><

Re: A Poetry Chain
A witch! a witch!
a peasant witch took his heart!
a peasant cant steal his heart!
that was mine alone!
how can a peasant
steal his heart?
a few months ago
a peasant moved to this town
her glory shining under the sun
like the most perfect
the most shiny
and the most delicate
ruby to ever exist
the prince met this peasant
who had his heart stopped
from such a beautiful sight
he fell in love with her
love at first sight
they went together
to eat
drink
shop
and be together
but the priestess
who also loved the prince
saw this
she prayed to her god
asking why
"why would he fall in love
love something like her?
i love him!
he was mine first!
I want him to notice me!
he never did once..
but a peasant...
shes a witch
that has to be it!
shes using her spell on him!"
the priestess went around the town
telling the villagers the lies
of the peasant girl
who was now engaged to the prince
the trial of the witches death had begun
the prince having been lied to
by the priestess
who wanted him for herself
he got the knife from his pocket
cutitng off the beautiful
long ruby hair
as she couldn't do anything
but be shocked of his reaction
she didn't understand anything
as a villager was ready to set her on fire
while tied to the cross
unable to move
As she was about to be burned alive
she begged for someone to save her
a voice was heard
"you wish to be saved
but what will you give in return?
my work is not free
but I will grant your wish"
The peasant girl yelled
"I want to be free!
even if it means losing everything!
nothing else is meaningful to me
not even the love was real
i loved the prince
but now..
even he betrayed me"
as this was said
the flames begun to start
the girl screamed in pain
it wasnt the flames
it wasn't what was happening
but a pair of black wings ripped from her back
freeing her from the cross
she took flight into the sky
crying bloody tears
the prince watch with the others
who were shocked at the sight
the prince had begun to regret
what he had done
now relizing
he had done wrong
she wasnt a witch
she was just a beautiful girl
who had the most beautiful ruby long hair
he ever seen
write about a kangaroo

Sorry I don't do kangaroos so this is going to suck
little claw so tiny and small
so at home in this naturally beauty
a rugged wild landscape you live in
just like you rugged and wild to the extreme
something different something I never really seen
write about what would happen to snow white if the true loves kiss didn't work
