Betrayed and salty

Post by Leorobin »

Purveyors of goods that are outside of the general market are often in company of less than respectable groups. These groups at times believe they might get more out of backstabbing those that peddle their wares, event before they have sold them, than having a continued commercial relationship. Especially when in dire need of money. There are few safe routes between Silva Forest and the Keep, and to get Harpy and Tetzcotal Hippogryphs, a stop in the Alasre Mountains is needed. That is when the creatures are found in conventional ways. If acquired through backroutes, there are fewer places of inquire and as such keeping an eye on those routes.

Likely ambushed on his way back from Synnara to the Keep, by a group that obtains Kamar rabbits but refuses to identify their sources. The Burrowers, as they call themselves, expected to acquire the newer stock from Alethin's shop before it opened in the Keep, without having to pay for them. They heard rumours that Alethin had received a shipment of love potions besides the creatures they coveted and disclosed his route and shipment to the authorities. Of course, Alethin being himself, and with Adela's reluctant help, he managed to have his cart slip away. Even without the evidence he was brought in for questioning and sent out a note for help. One of the recipients of the letter used a Regal Glesvaerid to teleport into Alethin's confinement with enough saltwater to open a new portal and get both of them out. Other than the left over puddle no evidence of his escape was left.

((This was a draft which I intended to edit and expand but sadly was unable to. Hope it makes sense at least))
