(Good job catching that, Twiggy.)
As Carla said, the charm began to take effect some time around midnight. Marie started to have feeling in her fingers and toes again. Then, suddenly, she sat bolt upright in her bed, breathing heavily. When she finally was breathing normally again, she laughed quietly to herself. She was finally awake. She whispered, "Where am I?' to herself. As far as she could see, she was in a hospital. "
But I'm not dead," She whispered to herself, which was something. She struggled to remember what Charon had told her: "Well, first off, your not dead." She smiled again. "Already established." she whispered to herself, pushing herself up and trying to stand up. She managed to stand on her own for about two seconds, then she sat back down quickly on her bed. She felt like a colt, learning to walk. Though she'd been frozen only a couple of hours, it seemed like an eternity.
"Hello?" she called down the ward. No one answered. She sighed and was just about to give up and go back to sleep when a nervous voice said,
"Are you awake?" Marie sat up and craned her neck to get a look at the person who had spoken. It was a guy. He came around the corner and asked, "I said, are you awake?" Marie nodded.
"Yeah, I'm awake." She said.
"Oh thank the gods!" The boy said, coming into full view. Marie was shocked when she saw his lower half, which was of course, goat.
"Are you a satyr?" She asked interestedly, looking at his hooves and his curly horns peeking over his hair. "That would be me, my name is Billy."
"Hiya Billy." Marie said. "Did Charon tell you my name?"
"Uh, no, actually."
"Oh, well, I'm Marie." Marie tried to get up but Billy rushed over and said,
"Oh no, I'm sorry, but you're not going anywhere for now, until Charon gets here." She decided to stop struggling and she just lay there, waiting for Charon.
