When I'm posting in the click threads, I post in each one and it takes a little off each time. Then, after an hour or so of not posting at all, it'll be back to full count.

Not for me - I left not long after my post above and got home about 90 minutes ago. Posted in the click thread....got 16 gold for it. And no, doesn't matter if I dump cookies and/or cache either. OK, so it's not just me then. Thank you for your input. I thought I was being strangled when it came to earning gold, maybe I did something wrong. I have been clicking on a few eggs/hatchlings, and I realized that when I click on them, they grow a crazy amount, like 20% more or something. On some eggs or hatchlings, they grow like normal when I click on them, but others, they grow a crazy amount. Is this a bug/glitch or something?
