There are actually quite a few reason people have frozen eggs :3

Some people like to keep them so they have completely sets for each creature (usually an egg, a male and female hatchling, and a male and female adult), so they'll freeze an egg so they have at least one of each stage.

Some just really like the way certain eggs look (same goes for hatchlings :3).

Sometimes they clicked an egg they didn't want and froze it to make room for eggs they do want.

You can also sometimes get really funky percentages, so some people will freeze eggs at certain percents to keep.

And I know some people did (and some still do) use frozen eggs to separate/organize the creatures in their Keeps :3.

Noob question.
What's the difference between Protecting a Tab and a Hidden Tab??
Does a Hidden Tab receive clicks, or is it like Protecting a Tab only you just can't see it??
Thank You!!

It's like a protected tab that nobody can see (except yourself) and hides creatures.

Protecting a tab, Spell of Protection in Trading Post - the tab turns beige and the creatures can be seen by everyone, but clicking them will not grow them. It's excellent when you wish to sell a lot of hatchlings, you can just add a link to the tab in your Waynal post. Potential sellers can then see the creatures and click them to see their info, without growing them.

Hiding a tab, Spell of Cloaking in Remy's Inn - the tab changes to a greyish pale blue, only you can see the tab and the creatures in it. And the creatures will not grow from clicks. If you post a creature from a hidden tab, then when someone else clicks it they won't be able to see its info, they'll just get a page with the message: "Nothing here".

Or the short version - whether tab is protected or hidden, creatures will not grow. Everyone can see protected. Only you can see hidden.

Just wanted to clarify on lineages:

If I had a creature from "bob" family and he married someone without a lineage, would that one now be of the family bob?

And if so, would the new addition's kids from /before/ the marriage also get the family name bob?

No, the partner is unaffected by the breeding.
All the kids of "bob" family members would be part of the family regardless of the parent, unless the partner is from another family then it's a 50-50 iirc.

That does help a lot to straighten it in my mind, but I guess more what I'm asking is if I had a direwolf family and wanted to add a branch that was all koi, is there a way to do so?

More practically, like if I wanted a bug type family that wasn't limited to one breed.

Ah, not directly.

It's only possible to add recolours and hybrids (and possibly their parent species) but you'll have to breed them in.

First example: You're able to breed an agaori family with all the different original colours as well as the hybrids.
Second example: If you have a direwolf family, you'll be able to breed albino direwolves. If you breed direwolf offspring with manticores you may be able to breed direcores, albino direcores and manticores. If you breed manticore offspring with ibex you may be able to breed chimera and ibexes. If you breed ibex offspring with koi you may be able to breed all the capricorns, but you'll never have a koi member as you cannot produce koi offspring.

You can only breed in things that are compatible. So if you had say, a family of Sayos Vitriums, you could breed in other Sayos and Jareen Vitriums, but nothing else.
On the other hand if you had a family of Razan Orchids, you'd only be able to breed Razan Orchids into it.
The Bestiary will tell you what can breed with what and what they can produce.

In the information about Breeding it says our creatures can breed every three days. I bred my black skulks 5 days ago but the counter says 1 day 8 hours 5 minutes ago. Are the counters in real time?
