Is a Thanksgiving event going to happen this year? I've seen no announcement and no Amagnae eggs in the Stream and no one else seems to be wondering so I have no idea where to ask.

No. Unnamed, unlineaged, and unfrozen only, and they'll need to be in your Main tab. If a quest needs adult creatures (or hatchlings), they'll need to meet the same requirements (where relevant).
