Ah, no. Just get a first gen or stream born or shop born, whatever works for your lineage, and breed. An egg from the pairing will be a second gen and will carry the family name.

Hey, well, on click threads, people often say "clicking with multi-links". What are multi-links?

Multi-links [or snap links] is a firefox/opera/chrome addon that allows you to click/open multiple links at once. :)

As an add-on, to use multi-links, hold the "Ctrl" key down while you click on links or creatures. It opens another tab on your toolbar. Most people use it to save time and patience.

Doesn't always is Ctrl key. I know with Firefox one, it's the right button, if preferences set right. (have mac, so I am totally not sure, but it is the same for both Windows and mac.)

no, you actually need an UNRELATED mate - creatures from the same lineage will not breed with each other. any unlineaged creature of an appropriate species and opposite gender, or creature from a DIFFERENT lineage, will give you an egg (with luck), and the egg will be of the lineage (if you are breeding with just the one) or either (if you are breeding two different ones).
also, once you set up a lineage, that starter - "Progenitor" - pair will no longer be able to breed with anyone but one another - they are now mated for life.
(also, ShaiNeko, the initial offspring of a Progenitor pair are the first gen - their offspring are the second.

Actually that's incorrect. The progenitor pair are listed as "progenitor" and their offspring are first gen. Evidence: family/126

This is the same system used by biologists when defining lines (ask Morgaln.)

Missread, apologies.

(..that's what i said, love...the offspring referred to in the second clause are those of the first gen young.)
