I've been having the worst luck. Can anyone tell me if these particular turtle colors are also available in female? All eight in a row have been male.
I pluck them from the stream when there is only one floating around. Maybe that's the problem.

No it has nothing to do with when you grab them, you're just having a string of bad luck. If it's not logging you out, you probably already clicked the creature within the past 12 hours. Or, the computer THINKS you did because you need to clear out your history and cookies and cache.
Hawke's IRL fiance, Lunaroki, suffered a massive stroke and died on Tuesday, March 31st, 2015.
