You can also get creatures from events, or from quests.
There are also some creatures you can only get from breeding, usually by breeding two different creatures together (for example the only way to obtain a Capricorn is by breeding a Koi and an Ibex) or as a rare colour varient-regular Direwolves can sometimes produce Albino offspring.
