KIB size is super hard to compress when your avatar is a gif.
Is there any possible easy way to make a gif an avatar within the parameters that are accepted in regards to an uploaded avatar?
Resizing a gif is super easy to me but the KIB size of the gif is such a problem. Is there a website I can use to lower a KIB on a gif perhaps?

If you want a gif as an avatar, your best bet is to use the URL option. it's what I do for mine - upload the image to something like imgur or tinypic and link it instead.

Hey, thanks for responding. I tried doing what you suggested but unfortunately it said the KIB was too high.
I keep trying to reduce it [and the gif keeps looking worse and worse] but it stops letting me reduce the KIB at 76

Something doesn't sound quite right with this. The size shouldn't come in play at all if you're using the URL link.Wendigo wrote:Hey, thanks for responding. I tried doing what you suggested but unfortunately it said the KIB was too high.

OH!
Basically what I think I was doing wrong [for others who have had the same problem as I did, I'll show what I did below to 'fix' it] Where the second outlined red square is, the Avatar Dimensions, I forget to clear it out before putting the direct link in the Link Offsite bar.
Once I cleared it and entered the link, it worked perfectly fine!
Also I tried using Tinypic at first but my gif image had said that my image was originally a "GIF" file but was changed into a "JPG" file when I uploaded it to Tinypic and therefor wasnt a valid link.
In this case try uploading it to Giphy [which I did afterwards] and using the direct link from there and pasting it in the Offsite Link bar.
Thank you Ktanaqui for the help, and hopefully my little bout of confusion will help other people in the future if they run into the same problems as I did.
