Alicanto Heart not working?

Alicanto Heart not working?
I bought an Alicanto Heart a few days ago and it hardly ever works. I will get a few of the 5g clicks out of it, but then it will go back to 1g for the rest of my clicks. Should this be of any concern to me?

It only changes how much gold you get from eggs. Hatchlings and adults still give 1g each when you click them.
