I just had it happen again in Opera. I'm not sure what caused it but my computer did restart because windows, but it normally keeps me logged in.
It seems like inactivity makes it log you out in Opera, or maybe it's just time based because i've been logged out mid-mine before.

Re: Random Logging Out
My old computer, when one page of the mine in Opera finished, it would pause. If the pause was long enough, then the site would see it as inactivity, and log me out mid-mine. Old computer didn't have enough RAM, and powerful enough processor to avoid the pause. New computer doesn't have a problem with the pause, and runs the mine just fine, without logging out.RobotChimera wrote:I just had it happen again in Opera. I'm only having the random log out problem in Chrome right now.

Re: Random Logging Out
It's possible the cookie file itself is corrupted. If you're up to it, you could manually delete the entire cookie file. Is it safe to assume that Chrome is installed to your C drive? If you went with the default install, then the following tidbit should work. If not, we'll have to dig a bit ;)
Close Chrome entirely. Reboot if needbe.
Open Windows Explorer.
Double-click in the address bar to clear it.
Type the following:
C:\Users\insertusernamehere\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default
Replace the italics with your computers username, and delete the file labeled "Cookies" in the Default folder.
You can also take a backup copy to replace it if deleting it doesn't resolve the issue.
----
If this doesn't work, and you're game to give it a shot, it'd be nice to rule out your Chrome profile as a cause entirely. You can do this by pulling the entire "User Data" out of the equation. Rename it, or move it so Chrome can't find it.
Chrome will create a new one, and if the problem doesn't persist, then the issue is definitely related to your Chrome profile somehow.

Tried both, problem persists.Ktanaqui wrote:It's possible the cookie file itself is corrupted. If you're up to it, you could manually delete the entire cookie file. Though it seems it's no longer logging me out when I navigate away. So might have been part of the problem.
Still logs me out using snap/multi links/linkclump.

Re: Random Logging Out
Some users, especially users who use VPNs, AOL, or live in Singapore (???) have IP addresses that can change wildly from minute to minute. When that happens, the site thinks that some completely different user stole your cookie and is trying to sign in from a different location, so it logs "them" out. Not really sure what to do about it.

Re: Random Logging Out
But I don't use a VPN, AOL, or live in Singapore.
Though, now it seems to be working fine. Just had to add back the close-it scripts I use.
Edit: And it's back to doing it again.
IDK, maybe I'm just stuck with it.

Re: Random Logging Out
Do you use any particular DNS settings? Either on your router, or your computer?

Re: Random Logging Out
That I don't know. Have to ask my husband as he does all that. I know he has it set to where if your IP is not on the router you can't get online/use our wifi. But if that were the problem I wouldn't be able to get online at all, and it only does it with Magistream. Any of the other sites I log into don't get logged out.Ktanaqui wrote:Do you use any particular DNS settings? Either on your router, or your computer?

Re: Random Logging Out
Ever heard of a Raspberry Pi?
Also, he's using what is called Mac Address Filtering. It doesn't use IP addresses - it uses a very special hardware address unique to your device ;)

Re: Random Logging Out
The snaplinks connection makes me think that maybe it's preloading links on the page as an optimization, including the log out link...
Kinda like if you have hoverzoom and hover over an egg in the stream. I should figure out how to disable that.
