I seem to be getting the "Your inventory is too full." message despite not being actually maxed at all of the items.

Only item i'm not maxed at that's in the current bags is the Fine Tuning Glass (which I have 205 of), meaning it's impossible for me to get more at the moment until I use a bunch of other items.

What would be a fair way to fix this, in your opinion?

This is not an attempt to argue or anything, mind you, I'm just thinking... If a player is maxed out on certain items and purchasing another Mystery Bag actually works and gives them one of the items they aren't full on, then that would mean the item pool is reduced and their chances to get a specific item are higher than normal. And, for example, if one is maxed out on all items but one (just to take it to the extreme), such a situation would essentially mean they are getting a guaranteed purchase of the item they are after, at the price of a Mystery - or, not so "mystery" anymore - Bag. :P
EDIT: Read your post again, and it looks like what I described appears to be your case, but yeah, my point stands. xD

I can see it working if an item result is replaced with nothing in case the user has the maximum amount of the item that was generated, but then I can also see complaints about it, as one would have to spend more gold to get an item successfully.

Normally what happens is it lets you keep buying until you hit the max. I don't see that as unfair, if you're buying 255 of an item and maxed out on it, it's rational to only get the things you didn't get. The pool doesn't have any super rare items that have a low percentage of appearing from what i've seen, and most users don't bother clicking 550+ times to get all the items maxed.

That being said, the Black Market closes soon and I really need to get more tuning glasses.

Just popping in to say that it's certainly only fair to get the only item you're no maxed out in, because it's luck based anyway on what you get & you have paid money and got the others to max out
Would be unfair to toss almost 1000g somewhere and get nothing even if you'd be only 10 items away from maxing out the last one
I'd say that being maxed on items you don't use as often/at all is strategically viable and should not be unnecessarily punishable by giving you a random chance of wasting your money to get nothing in return

That being said, I hope the issue gets fixed, I wonder if it's because the Tuning glass was added and so it doesn't 'recognize' that you have more room on one item slot
The Ashen Feather was not included in this one though, so it was technically replased, but still, 1 extra item to get, 1 extra slot to fill but maybe isn't recognized by the system?
