Is there actually a way to let the animals hatching faster than via Twitter and the click threads?

You can also post your creatures to the Image-Free-Nursery (IFN), a lot of people use that site to earn gold by clicking everything - http://magi-ifn.net/add.php

There's also the pet hatchery!

You can also post in the designated threads in the Reindeer Games forum; that's usually how I speed up my hatching.
