Ok so I'm looking for items for a quest after a long absence and I can't remember how to get items at all let alone the feather for the quest

Not sure what you're asking here. Most Quests require you to get certain live eggs or creatures to complete them. None of them, that I know of require you collect items for the quest itself. A couple give items as rewards for completing the quest. Like the Lady Alua quests give you the gender change or breeding cool down potions. You need an ashen feather to transform a phoenix into an elder phoenix, but you get the feather by breeding two stream phoenixes, and you don't need the feather to finish the quest in question.
