Re: halp
Probably ones like Donations or gift borns. You know, ones that are hard to get and/or not many people have them.
If you look in the Bestiary (though this might take some time lol) you can see how many of a certain creature exists on the site. The less there are, the rarer they are (so I would think; that's usually how rarities work). Also, some creatures can be considered rare if they're harder to get, in example, if one particular person decides to hoard a certain creature and they end up owning most of them in existence, they could be considered rare, cause that person has most of them and only a handful of other people have them.
Hope that helps/makes sense. I'm sure another user who's been consistently on the site more than I have, can list specific creatures that are rare.
ETA: From what I've seen on the boards, the elusive Mohriors seem to be one of the rarest.

Rarest creatures on-site are artist-set SB hybrids, since only a few exist and ONLY in the artist's accounts.
SB (parentless) direcores are another near-impossible one. There's only a few people with them, so they are by far the rarest creature on the site excluding artist sets.
After that, SB Elder Crystalwings. Very few people have them - most that you'll find are 1st/2nd gen.
Then donis in general, older is usually rarer. A few events go up there, too, like Giftborns.

I figured the OP was asking about creatures that were actually obtainable, more or less. Since I don't think the artists will ever sell their special 'artist only' creatures. They might but, I highly doubt it.RobotChimera wrote:Rarest creatures on-site are artist-set SB hybrids, since only a few exist and ONLY in the artist's accounts.
I wonder how many of these rarer pets are actually on banned/abandoned accounts though? It's kind of a shame that such accounts, especially banned ones, have all those rare creatures just... sitting there. Especially since, y'know, the user isn't allowed on there anymore. Do those pets ever end up with Master Belmos, or do they just sit there for all eternity?
I play on Neopets too (omg shock! xD) and they actually go through and purge the old, frozen accounts, and release the pets from those accounts into the pound, so people who play now, can adopt them. Does anything like that ever happen to banned accounts here, where they might go to Master Belmos, to be resold/auctioned?

I, didn't think the artists got special sets of pets here(I know they do on DC).

I assumed they did too, cause when you try to view some of the artist's keeps, you get this message: You wouldn't want to spoil the surprise would you?BBkat wrote:Do they?RobotChimera wrote:Rarest creatures on-site are artist-set SB hybrids, since only a few exist and ONLY in the artist's accounts.

That leads me to think they get to have their creatures before they're released, so they don't want others to be able to see it.
I could be wrong, of course. Just guessing.

Yes, you are wrong. Artists do get a set of the creatures they've made, but not before they are released.WillowA wrote:I assumed they did too, cause when you try to view some of the artist's keeps, you get this message: You wouldn't want to spoil the surprise would you?BBkat wrote:Do they?RobotChimera wrote:Rarest creatures on-site are artist-set SB hybrids, since only a few exist and ONLY in the artist's accounts.
