This message popped up on my screen:

"You have 0 Ribboned Eggs. Better go buy some..."

I clicked on it and it took me to a shop, but as I have very little gold at the moment, I can't buy anything. That's not the problem.

Questions:
1) What is a ribboned egg?
2) How do I make the pop-up go away? It's blocking my view of things.

*sheepish grin*

And is there a way to "watch" a topic so I know when someone replies? Someone please PM me if I can.

So... you've probably figured this out a little more at this point.
But until the event is over, the pop-up is just going to be there. I think if you're tired of participating you can probably get ad-block to block it, though.
(But it's a lot of fun... and it will disappear when the event is over, on its own)

As for watching topics, you can subscribe to a topic or bookmark it. Both options are at the bottom, just above the copyright information, on the left, near the "index page", just under the "who is online" info.

Yes! Thanks. I have figured it out and feel a little dumb, but I got over that pretty quick as I'm sure newbies are forgiven. The pop-up doesn't bother me anymore since I know what it is.

If you mean game as in MS-as-a-whole, I think no one recently has been brave enough to tackle trying to explain it (although if you'd like to that would be a lovely thing!) but if you mean the event, you can check out the Site News thread (also visible on the homepage) for what's new for any event... and then details are usually found as people discover them on the community discussion thread about it.

I did read the announcement in the site news thread (also appears on what I think of as my front page). I have to make room for the new eggs first, and the one I want to buy in the shop, but I should be able to do that tomorrow. I did buy the drink. It was just this egg-throwing that wasn't detailed, but I've figured it out, except for the cute birds that showed up in my keep out of nowhere. So many surprises!

I agree! This is my first event on the site and it's so much fun! I was like, Ribboned eggs? Huh? xD But I've been attacking people left and right with eggs.

A tip for making gold: if you use firefox, invest in the snaplinks add on. It makes clicking things a lot easier and faster.
