What are the advantages and disadvantages of joining it? Do I unlock quests and zones or maybe I get limits to what I can do? Anything else? Don't know, help me :/

As a member of the herbalist guild myself, as far as I can tell, you just get special access to the herb shop and are able to buy creatures from there. Same for the dark shop and the water shop; depending which guild you join, you get access to that respective shop and are able to buy creatures from there.

Maybe before deciding which one to join, you could look here: http://magistream.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Guilds to see what each shop offers and see which one has creatures you might want to get.

Aside from being able to buy special creatures, there's no real advantage or disadvantage of joining a guild. Even if you want the special creatures, you can buy them from other members who have access to the guild, so you don't have to join a guild yourself. As of now, there's no guild-specific quests or zones but maybe that will change in the future. Only time will tell. ;) I hope that helps!

That's a good question! I'm not sure of the answer myself, as I have to check the threads myself also, to see when there's new replies. :/ I'm not sure if the site has a function to notify you of new posts or not. It would be pretty nifty if it did though.

I think it may simply be related to the age of the site. It's been around so long that many of the newer functions automatic to current forums need to be added manually, and sometimes it is weirdly complicated to do that.
However, you can subscribe to the topic, or bookmark the topic, manually.

It's down below the thread (look way below at the very bottom, just above the copyright information, on the left below the "who is online" information. There's a small menu bar; it has those tools).
