Example of difficulty levels.
1: Everyone can do these as only stream creatures are required to start and finish them
2: Slightly more experience players can do these since there's a chance that one would require a shop creature
3: Will requiring a shop creatures and possibly quest creatures
4: Have a high chance of requiring quest creatures and possibly a chance of being in need of a donation creature
5: May require a donation creature or two
You won't lose any creatures you bring with you on adventure and only adults can be taken along. Why only adults some may ask because they might want to take their favorite frozen hatchling on adventure. Because I was thinking that adventures could in-cooperate the battle system people have talked about, on your adventure you may find hostile creatures that can attack you and the creatures you've brought with you will need to fight them.
Reward: A chance of getting an egg that can only be obtained by adventuring, each difficulty could have a different creature as reward. But the chance of not getting an egg at the end of the adventure is there to make up for the fact that the adventures are repeatable and that you can't always expect to be successful when venturing out in the world.
Creatures: As for creatures all adventures have one or more creatures that must be brought along as they're needed to complete them. There could be a set amount of creatures you can bring on an adventure, the harder the adventure is the more you're allowed to take with you and of course an extra slot or two for those that wanna bring their favorites along.
Example of creatures allowed at each difficulty.
1: 1-2
2: 1-2
3: 2-3
4: 3-4
5: 4-5
Variety: To avoid it becoming boring there could be made several adventures for each difficulty that all have different requirements and story. To vary it even more the game could randomly pick like 3-5 each day you can choose from. So every day there'll be something different to choose, one day you may have 5 Lv. 1 adventures to choose from another day you may have 2 Lv. 1 and 3 Lv. 5 to choose from.
So to sum it up.
- Repeatable
- Multi-choice to vary the adventure stories a little
- Different difficulties so there's something for everyone
- No guarantee of reward
- Possible chance to use a battle system as hostile critters may attack you
- Can still pick other creatures to adventure with in addition to the ones required for each adventure
- There'll be different randomize choices of adventures available each day
I hope I explained it well enough, I sometimes suck a explaining things.
Suggestion modification, instead of donation creatures is going to be quest and event creatures plus the start of a battle system.
Puzzle suggestion.Padfootsmistress777 wrote:No, I know, but, suggestions thread so I figured I put it in there. Quest and event I like though, those are (relatively) easy to get (compared to donations) but still difficult enough that it can take awhile, especially if pairs aren't cooperating .
That's true, maybe a form (like the crash-return forms we have), a couple of drop down menus, one with a list of your creatures, one with a list of available attacks (or maybe check-mark based lists?). And maybe there can be different "rounds". And you can choose a (set of) creature(s) and an/a (set of) attack(s) for each round, hit "submit" and then get a whole story based on what you've chosen. To make it easier, the lists could just go by species names instead of personal ones, if you don't have that creature you can't use it (all must be adults). The species names would just be to make the story telling easier, you don't have to make a new story for every name... Almost like fill in the blanks or madlibs! x3.
ApprenticeCrone wrote:What if instead of a battle it's a puzzle or maze, and you can't always complete it because you can't go backwards. So most of the choices will lead to a nice result, but sometimes you'll be told,
"The path dead ends at a beautiful viewpoint above a lovely waterfall. Your (fill in creature you brought) is so excited, it (flies/jumps/climbs) down to play in the water, and you end up having to go home to clean up the mess."
Or something similar.
