I removed CloseIt from my Chrome and I'm still not getting any gold for clicking creatures. :/ Even when I click creatures individually, not using Snaplinks.

I'm easily amused. Going back to goldmining with snaplinks and closeit disabled, I wait for all the links to turn purple, go to the furthest right tab, hold down control and then hold down "w" and watch all the critters zoom past as they close... lol it's particularly fun for the pearl wyrm sections, so you can see the big interior art zip through the different shades...

(although despite disabling closeit, not all of the clicks are registering, still. Dunno why.)

On that topic, I was actually introduced to this site by people posting their eggs in their sigs on other websites. If not for that, I would never have found out about this site True, it was a long time before I actually joined, but I REMEMBERED those eggs and hatchies. So, making people spreading their eggs across other sites useless will hurt in the long run, since it'll be one less way in which new users are drawn in.

The elephant egg in your signature is showing seven anonymous people under recent clicks, so at least some anonymous clicks have to be registering.
Munin wrote:I don´t use close it. I let the pages load fully, waiting like 10 seconds to see if anything happened. My clicks do not register at all, neither for growth, gold or in the "recent clicks" list no matter how I click the creatures, with snaplinks or simple left-click, in keeps, signatures or the IFN. (I´m using Firefox 3.something if that´s relevant)
The elephant hatchlings in your signature do show you as having clicked them, so at least some of your clicks have to be registering. Whether they add growth and/or gold to your account is not something I can see, however, so Tristan will have to look into it. In my experience, both are tied to the click registering, so one shouldn't be able to happen without the other.

Couldn't those be old? I have a couple of those myself, but they are at the beginning of the recent clicks. Couldn't the creatures have got them before the update?
How long do they actually stay in the list, I forgot? xD

EDIT: I cannot type .__.

I think there's a delay... some of the eggs I kept opening and closing to see that, yeah, it really hadn't registered, after about 5 minutes they showed as 'no wait it did register'. Not sure how long it actually is, time always seems so subjective, but at least four eggs that I kept compulsively click/checking did eventually register.

edit: anyway, we'll be able to tell the difference with all of Master Belmos' hatchlings, anyway. See if it takes significantly longer for them to grow up, after the change.

They should vanish after twelve hours, since that is how long it takes until you can click the creature again. Not everything over here is always doing what it should, though :P

I just tweeted one of my eggs as a test and it got about 7%, but it didn't show anyone new in the list of users clicking it. So it might not be a problem with anonymous clicks not registering but with them not being logged in that list. Which would be a minor thing in that case.

That´s what I guess is the case for my elephant hatchies. I clicked them last night (before Tristan fiddled with the code), when I clicked them again today/now they don´t register the new clicks.

I'm still having troubles, loads of clicks won't register, and although before I was getting the gold, it seems now, I don't even get that. I'm not even using snaplinks or close it, just plain old manual mouse clicks. And I'm positive these creatures (aka new eggs) have not been clicked by me. It's pretty frustrating, and also I keep twittering my eggs, and normally they would grow quite a bit, now they move like a couple percent, if anything.
