Username Change(?).

I do like the idea tons, both as a gold sink and as a way to change your name

(I've always thought about capitalizing mine, or dropping the "60" but never wanted to actually change it)

Though I think 6 months would be a bit much, maybe something like two or three? So not quite as long, and not insanely short.

And I would think that the people that would want to change their names to inappropriate things would have already done that, when signing up for the site

and those who are on here tons and like more inappropriate things would know what would really not work and stuffs

The current one is 6 months.

It'd be good if there was a way to remember when you did it though, I honestly have no clue when mine stopped being starpokewars.

The current one IS 6 months. I see no reason to change it to avoid it being abused.

Well, for people who aren't new but want to save up for a creature, like me, that presents a bit of a problem. And Morg can hardly mind if it's his job, I mean, it's not like people will change them every day or something.

How does it present a problem? Unless you are planning on changing your name every other week, it isn't a problem. Save for a creature, don't change your name, that solves the gold problem. It needs to cost more to change like Piney said. That will discourage people from rapid name-changing for no reason unless they actually want a name change.

For anyone who has changed their usernames before, you may have noticed that Morgaln says he has to wait until both he and you are online, so you'll know when it happens. That way, you don't come trying to log on, when while you were offline Morgaln changed it, so you'd be trying to log on with the wrong username (your old one). If that happens, I am sure someone is going to get mixed up, forgetting they had it changed, and come complaining that they were banned, their account was messed up/hacked, whatever. I think that is one problem with this idea. Of course, I am sure there is a way around it somehow, but since no one has mentioned it yet I thought I'd drop it in.

I think the gold idea is a great one. But there is no six-month cooldown, for whoever is saying that. There's a user here who's had three usernames in three months. Not that hard.
