Official Creature Suggestion Thread

No idea if it's been suggested before, but...

I propose an unholy alliance. Mix the two largest groups of interbreedable creatures on MS (direwolf/manticore/ibex and gryphon/phoenix/ice phoenix)

Currently with almost any starting creatures in either family you can create a family containing a total of 12 different species.

Group A:

Manticore, Ibex, Direwolf, Albino Direwolf, Chimera, Tidal/Meridian/Hallow/Amethyst/Ruby Capricorns, Direcore, Albino Direcore


Group B:

Sand/Gold/Ash/Onyx Gryphons, Caramel Gryphon, Fire/Ice Gryphon, Phoenix, Ice Phoenix, Hippogryph, Solar Hippogryph, Lunar Hippogryph


Some in the groups can breed with members but not produce the same species, which is why Koi are not in Group A (you can't breed a koi into the lineage somewhere as capricorn x koi or ibex x koi will never produce koi, only capricorn. However you can get an Ibex from breeding a Chimera x Ibex), and Pegasi are not in Group B (Hippogryph x Pegasus is not possible, and Gryphon x Pegasus only procudes Hippogryphs)

To mix the two lines together a single hybrid would work (that will also occasionally produce either parent, such as Direwolf x Manticore producing Direwolf, Manticore, or Direcore)

The possibilities for SB x SB are:

Manticore x Gryphon
Manticore x Phoenix/Ice Phoenix
Gryphon x Ibex
Gryphon x Direwolf
Ibex x Direwolf
Ibex x Phoenix/Ice Phoenix
Direwolf x Phoenix


My personal thoughts on the best would be Ibex x Phoenix/Ice Phoenix, as there isn't much on MS close to "fire goat". And a goat on fire with bird legs sounds awesome.
Manticore x Phoenix/Ice Phoenix would be sweet too, the closest fire lion is the Skellion which is on fire but also a skeleton.
Direwolf x Phoenix seems too close to Simurghs, and I have no idea on the rest.

Phoenix x Ibex hybrid created. Let's call it IP.

Phoenix x Ibex would create IP

IP x Phoenix = IP or Phoenix
IP x Ibex = IP or Ibex

From there, either the Phoenix or Ibex could be introduced into the lineage from whichever family was missing it. Phoenixes will breed with Gryphons to produce either Fire Gryphons, Phoenixes, or Sand Gryphons. From there you could breed the rest of the Gryphon colors, Ice Phoenixes, and Hippogryffs into the lineage.
Ibex breed with Manticores to produce Chimeras. However, Chimera x Ibex can result in Ibexes and Chimera x Manticore can result in Manticores, which leaves room to add Direwolves, Capricorns, and Direcores into the family lineage.

The only real change this would make is for families with the above creatures being able to add new creatures into their family lineage, so I don't really see any downsides (and having a family with 20+ different creatures in it sounds like fun)


Let me know if there's holes in my plan somewhere, I can't see anything so far.

May I also propose to add to the insanity, a hybrid between Rewins and Gryphons and/or anything from Group A.

Something I'd really like to see more often creature-wise would be expansions on existing species in the MS world - think how we get different Amagnae every autumn. In particular I'd love for there to be variations on Rosa Doves, because I think the concept of flowers x birds as a creature is super lovely and I'm obsessed with them . In general I think creature additions in this vein are really great! I love seeing more depth be added to the bestiary between directly related creatures as opposed to brand spankin new critters (though those are awesome as well!), like how we got more Koi species with the pond and the Hazel Farirs.
