Kieran sat at his desk, studying hard for finals - not because he wanted to, but because Donovan kept rubbing in how his grades were better and Kieran had had enough, thank you very much - when a small explosion reduced his quill and inkstand to ashes. Kieran yelped, jumping up out of his chair as charred ink splattered all over his robes and the book he'd been reading. Then he yelped again as he realized that where his quill used to be, there was now a strange black creature regarding him with a not at all nice look. "What are you?!" Kieran yelled, grabbing a handful of shadows with his mind, just in case. The creature regarded him disdainfully, then turned in such a way that its body twisted in an entirely unnatural angle. Kieran resisted the urge to throw his shadows at it right then, watching as the creature pulled a note seemingly out of thin air and presented it to him. Kieran gulped, gingerly taking the letter, and pulled it open to read. "Happy Halloween, Kieran!" it read. "I finally found a gift edgy enough for my favorite angsty shadow mage. This thing's a Pandorum. Apparently dark mages usually summon them and make a contract with them but I found a summoning spell buried in the library's archives and modified it so the creature gets to you instead. Hopefully everything went correctly. Sorry about any mess. -Donovan" Kieran groaned, burying his head into his face. So much for studying for finals - now he had to go research whatever this creature was so he didn't accidentally sell his soul to it or worse.

it made me go back and read dracoknight au again and w0w that was. the height of bad fanfiction. you guys were way too nice to me

What? No, it was good! Granted, the spell words part was a bit repetitive but I genuinely enjoyed the story itself, the writing was very entertaining. Your writing has a fantastic voice.

I like the Dragoknight AU tho, bad fanfic or not.

You're not alone there, I'm so unprepared is not even funny. I really need to start preparing like I use to.
