If you want to PM them concerning a post, click the "PM" button under their name and info to the left of the post. That will include the post text in the PM.

You can also use the Private Message link in their profile (reached by clicking on the person's name). And if you go to your User Control Panel (link just below the page header), select the Private Messages tab, and the Compose Message button. For that you have to fill in their name manually and click "Add" to specify who it will go to.

Why do some people want to trade for specifically hatchlings or adults? Is there significance to either stage or is it personal preference? I'm confused by why people want to hide their creatures in trades so clicks won't affect them.

Well, when it comes to breeding, you can only breed adults. So some people prefer adults.
When it comes to gifting, you can only gift hatchlings (or unfrozen eggs), so some people like to have a lot of hatchlings on hand.

Some people like to have a "complete" collection and define that by at least one of every possible sprite -so hatchlings as well as adults and frozen eggs, and when they try and get what they are missing, naturally they will want the stage they don't already have.

Some quests require hatchlings.
Some quests require adults.

And then there is always personal preference.

(Myself, I like unfrozen hatchlings. I can always grow them up into adults if I want adults, but I can't make adults turn back into hatchlings)

Personal preference/collection purposes. Some people prefer hatchling sprites to adults or visa versa.

The hiding is so they don't grow up because clicks=growth and to many clicks means they'll grow up. Which is a pain when you're hoarding live hatchlings.
For example, I collect (SB) Hippocampus hatchlings because I find the hatchling stage really cute, but I had to hide the tab because people kept clicking them.

Thank you for the quick responses! I could understand why people prefer adults to hatchlings (this is where I'm leaning to personally as well), but not entirely vice versa. I understand better now.

As far as hiding goes, I believe I read somewhere (but I can't find it now... ) that you can either buy the cloaking spell for 75,000 gold from Remy's Inn or you can initiate a trade with a NPC in order to hide a pet(s)?

For the spell, you only have to buy it once but you can use it on multiple tabs? As for the trading option, which NPCs do you use to hide pets? I don't want to accidentally trade a pet away because I don't know what I'm doing, or know if that's even possible to do because of the confirmations in place for trades.

The spell of cloaking is permanent, once you buy it, you never have to buy it again to renew it's effects. You can then choose which tabs you'd like to hide (but you can always unhide tabs and pick/choose/switch around). The problem with hiding something in a tab is that when you click on the creature link (ex: magistream.com/creature/####) all you will see is a message that says "nothing here"

If you hide a hatchling in a trade with say, "Anna" (a safe one to use), people can see the creatures' information and all, the owner will just say "Nobody."

Even if you accidentally send the trade to someone, you ALWAYS have the option to cancel it. If you initiate, you always have to confirm at the end. It goes like this - you confirm - the other person confirms - you have the final confirmation.

The way I hide in a trade is I simply initiate the trade with Anna, then I can put in creatures and gold and take them out freely at my will (once you hit the initial confirm, all you can do is cancel, you can't add/remove creatures/gold).

Hope that was helpful and not too confusing :t-sweat:

Actually that only comes up if it's a creature you don't own. If Ic lick one of my hidden hatchlings I can see it's page and everything, but it won't gain clicks. If someone else clicks the creature to view it's page they'll get the 'nothing here' message.

What's the rules with creating the DP-threads? When is it okay to make the next Doni threads? Is it like once the Midmonth is out you can make the next month ones, then when they're out you can make the one for the next Midmonth?

Yup. For example, once the June Midmonth comes out tonight, it's fair game for anyone to create the July doni thread. And once they're out then someone can creature the July midmonth thread. And so on.
it's just usually a case of who is faster in posting the thread.
